ZEISS KINEVO® 900 Robotic Visualization System
ZEISS KINEVO® 900 is the innovative, high-performance Robotic Visualization System™, combining next generation movement assistance, on-demand digital 4K visualization capabilities and QEVO®1, the Integrated Micro-Inspection tool. KINEVO 900 from ZEISS introduces a new category of microsurgical visualization by combining a multitude of innovations in one fully-integrated system to fulfill the clinical needs of the surgical team. While all these innovations strongly contribute to an advanced surgical system, the following three highlights will especially support the surgical team in mastering the complex.
Surgeon-Controlled Robotics enables the surgeon to achieve new levels of precision and control through actively guided robotic movements. Taking system stability to the next level, all axes of the system are actively dampened to minimize collateral system vibration. Hands-free pivoting around a position with PointLock streamlines the access to the anatomy and reduces the necessity of frequent repositioning. Additionally, PositionMemory enables the surgeon to store position and view of the KINEVO 900, allowing a return to a pre-saved location at any time. This can result in enhanced focus and improved workflow when exact locations need to be revisited during the procedure.
The ZEISS QEVO®1 Micro-Inspection Tool extends the microscopic view in a seamless fashion. It provides the surgeon with on-demand capability to visualize structures previously not visible. Allowing a view around and behind anatomical structures could prove beneficial in a multitude of approaches, for example in aneurysm cases. All system functionalities are fully integrated into the ZEISS KINEVO 900 unit to complement the surgical workflow. ZEISS QEVO®1 was designed with that application in mind, offering an angled, lightweight design and full autoclavability for easy clinical sterilization.
Digital Hybrid Visualization opens up new possibilities for the surgical team while giving them the freedom of choice. Having the possibility to work in the digital visualization mode could improve the ergonomics and minimized fatigue during lengthy procedures such as lateral lumbar spine procedures or horizontally oriented approaches. With the full integration of Digital 4K Visualization and 3D capabilities into one single system, ZEISS KINEVO 900 allows an improved involvement of the operating room staff. With comparable image quality to classical optical visualization, assistant surgeons and support staff can be more deeply involved in the surgical sequence leading to deeper immersion and improved education.
In summary, ZEISS KINEVO 900 is an all-in-one solution combining the best of the digital and optical world, making it the first of its kind – The Robotic Visualization
